The Auxiliary Luncheon is held annually to raise funds for the support of the Carmelite Monastery. Since the Carmelites exist on donations from friends, we cannot stress the importance of our fundraising efforts enough! Proceeds from our fundraising go toward general maintenance costs for the Monastery, as well as toward special projects.
Historically, the Auxiliary had luncheons in the early spring in Sacramento, either in members’ backyards or occasionally in the Dante Club. Beginning in 2016, the new Auxiliary chose to have a Spaghetti Luncheon and Silent Auction at St. Joseph Parish hall in Auburn, California. The luncheon is usually scheduled on the first weekend in October.
The Spaghetti Luncheon includes a four-course meal, raffle, and silent auction. Information about the Monastery, the nuns’ lives, and the work of the Auxiliary is shared. This is a really fun event, with an Italian themed decor and music.
The next luncheon will take place on October 7, 2017, at St. Joseph Parish hall in Auburn, California. The event begins at Noon, but check-in is at 11:30AM. Tickets are $25 each.
There are no upcoming events scheduled. Please check in with us again soon!
October 2016 Spaghetti Luncheon
The October 2016 Spaghetti Luncheon and Silent Auction was held at St. Joseph Parish Hall in Auburn, with an attendance of 200. The Knights of Columbus cooked a very delicious spaghetti with a secret recipe sauce; there were over 50 raffle prizes and about two dozen silent auction items. The event raised several thousand dollars for the Monastery, and was fun for all!
